Pastor Mike's Thoughts

We’re living in a time that Christians need to be established in their relationship with the LORD. Where do you stand on this most important matter? Are you facing struggles in your life that seem to overtake you with stress, grief, or sorrow? We all face times in our lives that bring these matters to our hearts. Even though we struggle with these things, it’s important to realize that through all of our struggles, Jesus is right there with us. Times are hard, and we must learn to lean on Jesus more today than ever before. The enemy is at work in this world trying to bring discouragement and defeat to every one of God’s children. Don’t allow the enemy to get you down. He’s working tirelessly to bring defeat to your life, but he must not succeed. Place your faith and trust in Jesus today. Ps. 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Although the things in this world seem to bring disappointments, we can place our confidence in Jesus, knowing that He is our refuge and strength in all of our troubles that we endure. Praise God for His hand of comfort and strength. Some of you have faced life-changing events that make the heart heavy, but please know that Jesus is there to help you through this time. Never has there been a circumstance, a problem, or a struggle that is too big for God to bring victory to our lives. As we proceed through these difficult times, we must remember this. Never has He failed us, and He will continue to help us if we will place our trust in Him. Today, as we get into the worship service, don’t hold back anything, give Him the praise He deserves. I pray that your week will be filled with God’s blessing in your life. Have a blessed week, and let His love abound in you.

"Why Am I Here?"

Bro. Doug

The most important question you should ask in your life is, “Why am I here?” Many people struggle with the reason they are alive. Some wonder if they are just a cosmic coincidence. There are even some people who fall prey to the false teaching that we are nothing more than a freak combination of chemicals that accidentally came together and made life.

This leads them to the old saying “Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die.” It is the destructive idea that we cease to exist after death. Many have allowed themselves based on this idea to become the center of their own miniature universe. It is the Burger King Mentality of having it my way. Jesus is the way so we must have it His way. His way is the purpose of life.

There are many false ideas and false teachings that distract us from our real purpose in life. In the letter to the Colossians Paul was dealing with the problem of false teaching. False teaching will distract us from our path. False teaching will disrupt our faith. False teaching will reduce our light for the Lord.

In Paul’s work to overcome the false teaching he brilliantly shows us our individual purpose as well as the purpose for the Church’s existence. So, ask yourself the all-important question: Why does the church exist?

Let’s translate that into our church, New Creation Fellowship Church. Some of you may ask why on earth do we meet and why do we study the Bible? Why do the ministers continue to push certain subjects? The answers to these questions lie within the Bible, such as: “Why were you created”. One single verse defines that. Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: We are not an accident. We were created by Jesus and for Jesus.

From the individual to the individual churches. The Bible teaches Jesus created everyone who has ever lived or ever will. Not only did Jesus create everyone. He created everyone for Himself. Paul said it this way: 1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

To glorify in this passage means to praise, magnify, celebrate, and honor God. It also conveys the idea of getting others to acknowledge God’s greatness. The church exists to exalt Jesus. To exalt means to raise in rank, status, or character and to honor glorify and praise Him.

As the church we are called Christians. A way to understand the definition of Christian is to say we are little Christ’s. We are the “Ambassadors” of Jesus and we represent His deity. Let’s investigate a few of the necessities of lifting Jesus up in position and status as New Creation Fellowship Church Ambassadors.
